After a week of very few new releases, the upcoming week is set to give theatres a couple of big names to keep audiences entertained in many different genres. 'Peter Rabbit 2' has proven to be a great financial success and will continue to play alongside the likes of 'Spiral: From the Book of Saw', 'Godzilla Vs. Kong' and 'Those Who Wish Me Dead'. The return to cinemas appears to be fairly successful so far with hopefully as few hiccups as possible, a good sign for the future with bigger films looking to be released. Without further ado, here are some of the new features that you can look forward to this coming week.
Cruella (Rated 12A - 134 mins)
Academy Award winner Emma Stone takes up the role of the iconic villainess Cruella de Vil in an origin story that looks to uncover the psyche of the character. Following de Vil's roots as a fashion designer and the incidents that saw her become a notorious criminal, all within the setting of 1970's London. With the punk-rock revolution well alive and kicking, 'Cruella' looks to explore what turned this character into the vengeful and despicable one that we know from the '101 Dalmatians' films. The latest film of the 'live-action' Disney films, 'Cruella' at least looks to tell somewhat of a new story on the big screen rather than rehashing its animated versions. With a run time of over two hours, there appears to be a lot to unpack in this villains story, aided by a strong cast featuring Emma Thompson, Paul Walter-Hauser and Mark Strong.
The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It (Rated 15- ID May Be Required - 112 mins)
The third instalment of 'The Conjuring' series is finally here with Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga returning to their roles of Ed and Lorraine Warren, the famous paranormal investigators and authors. Based on the real-life trial of Arne Cheyenne Johnson, the Warrens investigate a murder trial that took place in Connecticut in 1981. The trial was one of the first times that a suspect claimed demonic possession as a defence for their innocence with the series heading away from the Haunted House premise that saw the first two films succeed incredibly well. James Wan acts as producer and creator of the story with director Michael Chaves taking the reigns for this highly anticipated horror film. 'The Conjuring' franchise has become a staple of modern horror cinema with this film set to deliver plenty of thrills and chills as an ideal horror to kick start the summer season.

A Quiet Place Part II (Rated 15 - ID May Be Required - 97 mins)
The long-awaited sequel to the 2018 film 'A Quiet Place' will finally be reaching cinemas this week after lengthy delays due to the pandemic. Viewers in the U.K. will have the chance to see this film through previews on Sunday and Monday before its official release on the 3rd of June. Starring Emily Blunt and Cillian Murphy, this sequel looks to build upon the world created in John Kraskinki's first feature, showing more of the origins of these creatures attacking Earth as well as this families continued struggles. Part 2 is already gaining largely positive reviews with many claiming it continues the momentum from the first one and is an ideal film for those returning to cinemas with its scale and tremendous sound design.

Sir Alex Ferguson: Never Give In (Rated 12A - 109 mins)
The story of the greatest mind in the world of Football is coming to big screen as the new documentary about Sir Alex Ferguson is being shown in cinemas this Thursday. What looks to be a fascinating feature, Sir Alex dives into his incredible legendary career from humble beginnings in Govan and his incredible success with Aberdeen to building Manchester United into the global force it is today. This is a must-see for all football fans with a clear insight on one of the games greatest minds, giving a look as to what drove the man to become not only the best, but one of the most respected that the world of sport has ever seen.
Demon Slayer: Mugen Train (Rated 15 - ID May Be Required - 120 mins)
The world of anime cinema brings 'Demon Slayer: Mugen Train' to cinemas this week, the film that was actually the highest-grossing film of 2020, the first non-American film to do so. Earning a whopping $477 million worldwide amidst the pandemic, this anime has earned rave reviews as a fan-pleasing spectacle with superb animation, action scenes and emotional storytelling. Originating from a series of manga and the sequel to a television series, this doesn't seem like a film for the normal punter due to the amount of lore that will be packed into it. However, this provides fans of the series a great opportunity to catch this animated film on the big screen, something that isn't always offered to these types of features.

Raya and the Last Dragon - Rated PG - 107 mins)
A film that has been available for quite some time on Disney+'s Premier Access and now DVD & Blu Ray, audiences will now have the chance to see 'Raya and the Last Dragon' in cinemas. The latest Disney animated release is one that has perhaps gone under the radar due to how it has been released but looks set to be one that is not to be missed. With plenty of heart, engaging visuals and stunning action sequences, 'Raya and the Last Dragon' has earned plenty of praise during its release as another great feature from Disney. If you're looking to entertain kids with something other than 'Peter Rabbit 2', this looks to be the ideal film for families this week.
